These “mini braids” are called cornrows. The style of braiding is also far from “new”. It’s been done since the early 2000s by Black women. Tresemme didn’t create the look and neither did Kendall Jenner. No one thought about it until we did it. -_- I rocked this style in elementary school around the time Alicia Keys brought zigzag parted cornrows back into popularity.
