It was an honour and a privilege to be invited to GBK’s pre-Golden Globes luxury gifting lounge and My family and I had a wonderful time. We met the likes of Anthony Anderson, Yara Shahidi, TJ Mitte and Carolyn Hennessy to name a few. I will be showing you all my experience there very soon, make sure you check out a blog post entitled My Big News that will come out very very soon.
Now Back to the Golden Globes fashion.
I will be discussing some of the big trends of the night that can all be easily and affordably recreated.
Trend 1 – Off the Shoulders or Cold Shoulders
In my opinion, Sofia wore this trend the best. Dress from one of my favourite designers, Zuhair Murad
Goldie Hawn in Prabal Gurung slaying this off the shoulder look!
Michelle Williams keeping it classy in Louis Vuitton. However, I could do without this choker.
Hailee Steinfeld looks like a disney princess in this Vera Wang dress however I feel the sheer sleeves do not add anything to this look.
Nicole Kidman always looks beautiful especially in this McQueen. But the addition of the sleeves make it look dated and almost like a costume.
This dress really does not flatter SJP at all. But that is just my opinion!
The off the shoulder is really easy to recreate with a nice Bardot top and high waisted skirt. To class it up, find a floor length A-Line skirt and put it with your Bardot top and you will surely be the Belle of the Ball.
Trend 2 – Bright and Bold, Sequins and Stars
Yara Shahidi is so youthful and fun in Schiaparelli
Janelle Monae in her signature monochrome palette. A monochrome sequined jumpsuit from Georges Chakra
Another amazing look from Janelle in Armani
Emily Ratajkowski slays in Reem Acra (Photo by Venturelli/WireImage)
Gina Rodriguez in Naeem Khan
Emma Stone adorned in stars from Valentino
Naomie Harris in Armani Prive
Viola Davis in Michael Kors – My favourite outfit!
Naomi Campbell confidently strutting around in Versace
Whether you wear a youthful feather dress like Yara or a statement dress like Viola Davis, always remember to make your mark.
Trend 3 – Suited and Booted… with some extra flair!
Ryan Gosling glowing in Gucci
Rami Malek in DIor Homme
Donald Glover in Gucci
Justin Timberlake in Tom Ford
Pharrell Williams in Chanel
Never be afraid of a change in suit colour, it could turn out to be your best friend.
