The Host – Taraji P Henson
The Actress and Activist hosted the show and wore 5 different outfits throughout the night. A queen can never have too many outfit changes right? She started on the Red Carpet in dark blue cut-out gown by David Koma. Her looks all celebrated her curves and inner and outer beauty!
Young Gift and Black – Yara Shahidi
The graceful, powerful and knowledgeable Yara Shahidi stunned in this Purple Elie Saab gown. Her style is great but her confident, calm & collected personality is even better. She accepted her award so graciously and spoke so eloquently. Congratulations on getting into Harvard!
Issa Rae
I’m still yet to watch insecure but I already know how amazing it is. Love this light and airy gown from Aleksandra Dojcinovic, it’s extremely flattering on her!
Skai Jackson
The beautiful young star is changing the world by standing against bullying and is standing for equality. Looking absolutely stunning in this Ong Oag Pairam dress.

But beyond the looks, Black Girls Rock is a powerful movement that is truly amazing. Every speech inspired me to get better and go further and watching this always gives me a higher level of respect for my grandmothers, aunties and my mum!
